Overview:
ASWB Engineering is seeking a full time Energy Engineer II to join our dynamic team. Energy engineers are responsible for conducting all aspects of building energy studies (energy audits) in commercial and industrial facilities, including preliminary data analysis, on-site data collection, equipment power monitoring, evaluation of energy efficiency measures, and potential demand response and self-generation opportunities, and report generation. Energy engineers will report to an engineering manager and will work closely with other team members as necessary and on more complex projects.

Responsibilities:
- Applied mechanical and electrical engineering
- Primary and secondary research of technologies including Lighting, Controls, Solar, Electric Vehicle, Demand Response, Energy Efficiency and Emerging Technologies
- Technical literature searches
- Building modeling using software such as Energy Pro, Energy Plus, eQuest, Trane Trace, etc.
- Energy savings calculations to document savings realized through efficiency improvements
- Assisting with program design and implementation
- Monitoring the progress of projects and communicating progress to clients and management
- Field work, including ASHRAE I & II audits
Required Qualifications (non-negotiable):
- 5-7 years of professional energy efficiency or demand response experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Policy, or Environmental Science
- Knowledge of utility demand management programs and resources (EE, DR, DERs)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong math and engineering fundamentals
- Fluency with Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Enthusiastic to work as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with and knowledge of current trends in building controls technologies and system design
- Knowledge of and experience working with building codes and/or minimum performance standards, particularly lighting
- Project management experience including budget development and management

- Work involves walking, talking, hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects, controls and/or PC equipment, and reach with hands and arms.
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Some light lifting, pulling or pushing of weight up to 20 pounds may be involved with the job.
- The position may also include field work that includes use of a ladder, requiring the ability to maintain stability on a ladder while using hands and arms to inspect equipment.
